OK, I’ve finally, got some new adds in the RPM Stacks here at WCNI…

Nickodemus & Mariano present Turntables on the Hudson Six (Remix) Wonderwheel

SMADJ Taake It And Drive Rasa

    Tigercity Tigercity EP Forge Records

Wax Tailor Tails Of The Forgotton Melodies Decon

Each and everyone has certain things I like. SMADJ and Benet are on the ultra cool Rasa label where Suphala’s CD was released on last year.

Kraak & Smaak, Herbert, and Jamie Lidell know how to lay down the electrofunk. Vintage Keys (Wirlitzer, Clavinet, vintage drum machines, soulful vocals, etc)

I am liking the Fort Knox comp especially the stuff with the sitar and the Speedy Consuela tracks!

Some interesting remixes! Tiesto Remixes scene music from the upcoming (July 7) Pirates 2 movie. Reggae icon Burning Spear is remixed by Paul Oakenfold. Last years releases by Cheb i Saba &
Delia Gonzalez / Gavin Russom have fresh new remixes to give them more attention.

And lastly, out of this bunch the Wax Tailor hasn’t left my player! This is a sample based record with a ‘cinematic’ feel. Yes, it floats between hip hop and downtempo. But the samples are assembled so that they create a dialog between each other – creating something very new from old sources!
